I've come to dearly love Yume-iro Patissiere. It is like Shugo Chara, not in its plot but in its writing and execution: it is witty in its dialogue and humor delivery, interesting in its character dynamics, upbeat in its mood without being saccharine, and dramatic without being overwrought.
I'm sure the vast majority of people took one look at this, thought "kiddy show" to themselves, and passed it up. It's a shame, too. YP is of vastly more quality and substance than the legion of otaku/moe dreck being pumped out these days. |
