Picked up School-Live! vols. 2 thru 12 at BMV for $8.99 CAD each except for 12 which was $9.99 CAD. The volumes look new and maybe they are: BMV sells remaindered books as well as used ones. Anyway, when you factor in the exchange rate, it's a better deal than going through TRSI. I liked the anime a lot so I have to assume I'll dig the manga.

FLCL: Progressive/Alternative Blu-ray

Saw it at Walmart, decided to finally pick it up. I would have gotten it much earlier but their first releases were dub only, and even though they were sort of "made" for an English dub, I wanted to watch the Japanese sub. When this version finally came out- there was no fanfare and I barey realized it existed.
...that and the two episodes I watched and the hype afterwards did not make me want to rush a purchase.

Looks like the "Digital copy" has to be redeemed by the 31st... I guess I might as well grab it. Maybe I'll watch some of it on my phone at work during breaks or something.

For the lulz, wanted to look into getting a crappy anime of yester-year for cheap (less than $10 so I don't feel like I ripped myself off). Snagged Sword for Truth off E-Bay. Only set me back $5 for my copy.

Picked up Afterschool Charisma Vols. 1-8 at Half Price Books over the weekend. I remember reading the first 10 or so chapters of the series, way back when Viz was starting the simulpublishing thing, and thought it was intriguing, but I ended up being too busy to keep up with reading it (and I think after awhile, they just stopped publishing chapters online, IIRC). So seeing the first 8 - and seeing that the final 4 were published and aren't too expensive to obtain - made me dive back in.

The only downside is that all 8 of them are former library books, still with the stickers on them and everything. So I need to carefully and slowly work on removing the stickers. But I got plenty of experience at doing this, so in theory it shouldn't be hard. Just cumbersome as heck. Laughing

It had been on the "may buy" list for a bit now after reading the ANN review, but after reading that it was coming to an end here soon, I sprung for Failed Princesses Vol. 1 today from Barnes & Noble. Getting new series, even ones I have more interest in over others, is so hard to really do due to limited shelf space, but at six volumes, it's not as bad as I would've thought.

That said, next task on my list will be to find another copy of Mai the Psychic Girl: Perfect Collection Volume 2. When I finally received what should've been it - based off every single thing in the listing and images - I actually got the individual comic issue #1. I don't want to think the worst, since the images on both items is basically the same, but at the same time, I still feel lied to. But unfortunately, due to a lot of complicated issues, I couldn't return it, so I'm stuck with the issue and back on the hunt. But I'll find it. Eventually. Somehow. Laughing
EDIT: And just before I went to bed, I found a listing on eBay for this very volume. Hopefully. Fingers crossed that it is ACTUALLY the thing that's listed, and not the comic again.

2nd EDIT: Mai the Psychic Girl: Perfect Collection Vol. 2 arrived today and it actually was the book as listed! The only thing that I don't quite like is how sun bleached the spine looks, but honestly, the book looks so good otherwise and given how hard it was to get this book, I'm not going to be upset. I'm just really happy to have this series complete at long, long, long last.
