Thanks for the clarification. The Barnes & Nobles stores here don't carry books with nude images in them at all unless they're unaware of it (like early volumes of Dragon Ball), and all manga is put together in the Young Adults section (and always next to American comic books). A few of them DO carry books they know have nude pictures though; they're classified as "Adults" and are put in black plastic wrap, though labeled so you know which books they are.

Putting them on high shelves doesn't work, namely because kids climb up to reach them (something toppling other things to get there), teenagers go looking for porn, and there are a stupid large amount of parents who, when they hear their kids saying they want something from a high shelf, will pick it up and give it to them without caring what it is.

Didn't expect something like this to be released.
Isn't there one that OYAKADO released?
Maybe it's the one they mentioned somewhere, but it might not be his if it's old.

This news is absolutely shocking considering the author's views on the fandom outside Japan.

Let me try and clarify here. The author, Kenkou Cross only intended for the MGE to be released for Japanese audiences only and he pretty much loathed the international community because they tried to over analyze his world and the creatures that reside within. Despite that, however, he did allow them to translate his pages (basically, whenever a new monster girl was released) and tried his best to keep a level head about things.

Unfortunately, a certain few members of the community not only ripped his work, but proceeded to make some rather unsightly and sometimes gory photoshopped images of his monster girls. This pissed him off something fierce and caused him to distance himself from the international community even more.

Actually that's not entirely accurate. What happened was we got a mass PM about changes to the rules for the RP threads. So we formed a new site called MGR. To spite MGU and kill it we emailed KK several photoshopped versions of his works among other things.

Also to our advantage we discovered that he apparently took a promise of "We'll handle" It from the MGU staff as some sort of contract that they wouldn't let him back on the site. So we exploited that. We created a ton of alts on MGU demanded the MGU staff give HAN a second chance. Funny all it takes to sink your enemy is to use throw away emails to create some alts and ask that a forum troll be given another chance. He then proceeded to email KK and all that delicious dramma.

As far as "Harassment" on MGU. There wasn't any aside from HAN. The so called "Harassment" from MGU took place on Emails. I gotta give Gullin credit. His plan worked flawlessly. MGU killed our first attempt at MGR so we killed MGU.

So...you burned bridges with the creator of the work out of spite for a fansite?

Is there more than one "Monster Girl Encyclopedia"?
All of the images that I found on Google seem very tame to me. I did not see even a nipple anywhere.
I did not read many of the text pages, but those that I did read did not have anything that seemed very adult. They talked about "mating," "sex," and "intercourse" but that was as explicit as it got.

That's the one. I don't remember any outright nudity; the most objectionable thing image wise would be a half-naked loli. Maybe a slime naked loli, but that's not the same as a regular naked loli.

^ Thank you, encrypted12345

This leaves me wondering about the "R-18" rating, and what it really means.
Did Seven Seas make that up? Or did somebody else impose that rating?
I cannot find any information about it because there apparently is a manga titled R-18 and my searches for the rating just find that.

That's right, there's nothing R-18 about the images at all. Even if there were nudity, that alone wouldn't be enough for an R-18 label as plenty of shounen manga have nudity.

From my understanding the author strangely decided the text was salacious enough to stick an R-18 label on it. Normally, something like that would just classified at most R-15 for novels, AFAIK....
