Thoughts re: The t-shirt--
You know how poisonous tree frogs are often brightly colored & patterned as a warning sign to other animals?
I'm just thinking there could be benefits to these shirts.

For those that don't need a totebag, the I Love Lolita image is available on a shirt as well.
I get a chuckle out of the existence of these sort of joke items but I have to wonder how many people actually buy them. It doesn't seem like you'd have much opportunity to show off owning it. I guess maybe at doujinshi events.

"Well surely it can't be that bad"
* Click article, check pictures
This shirt actually kind of scares me. Someone mentioned that I wouldn't get it without seeing the show, I'm not sure I want to get it any more than the poisonous frog metaphor that was made earlier.

The t-shirt and bag made me laugh out load, it would be funny to see someone where that in public, i wonder what would happen to a person wearing a shirt and bag like that in Europe?

Is this not the worst thing to be promoting when people are trying to convince the rest of the world to help out Fukushima?

This is so depressing, but I thought that Japan made it illegal like 10 or 15 years ago to possess that stuff?
Also, the premise for the story sounds funny. I dunno if I can think of anyone that would wear the T-shirt though, ha.

WHY? WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
Why is it Japan, when I think I've been desensitized after so long, that you can still make me shudder and cringe even while I laugh? It's horrible.
THAT SHIRT. I'm of two minds.

The sort of thing I wouldn't wear even if you gave it away - literally. Like I've never worn my Kiddy Grade ballcap (I still maintain they should have just put a GOTT insignia on it) and Lucky Star T-shirt.

You do realise what "loli" is short for, right? Just because the name has also been co-opted as a fashion term..

It was made illegal to sell or give away such material. Technically if you have a closet of child porn stacked up to the ceiling and a lock on the door, it isn't illegal as long as you don't let anyone see it. When your wife and kids find out after you die you can let them deal with it.

Truth.
While the tote is borderline, the t-shirt, especially on your avg. overweight pasty otaku, is... Yeah, just go ahead and make your reservations for prison right now. I'm sure your 400 lb. gorilla of a new roomie will just LOVE to meet you.
PS. Your prison name will be Candy.

That's a very convincing link you have there.
I personally find this to be much more convincing.

This has consistently been the case.

What about consumers of child pornography?
For this we have the Italian watchdog organization Telefono Arcobaleno’s 2009 report.
http://www.telefonoarcobaleno.org/report2009-eng_web.pdf
Top 10 Nationality of Internet Paedophiles:
No.1 – USA at 22.3%
No.2 – Germany at 17.6%
No.3 – Great Britian at 6.5%
No.4 – Russia at 6.1%
No.5 – Italy at 5.0%
No.6 – France at 4.8%
No.7 – Canada at 3.0%
No.8 – Spain at 2.3%
No.9 – The Netherlands at 2.2%
No.10 – Sweden at 1.8%
What about Japan? They’re way down at 16th place with 1.5%. |

Mea culpa. Interesting... does that include only digital hosting or physical media as well? I shall have to check that out (as I'd heard differently).
Oh, and it's polarisproject.org. But that's besides the point, as I didn't type that in my original post (I was everything before "Candy"). Hello, roommate.

I've gotten so used to lolita fashion that I actually thought that's what this was referring to at first (I know nothing about Ro-Kyu-Bu).
Under that assumption my reaction to the tote bag was like "oh, that's kind of cute!"
And then I scrolled down to the shirt and went "Ohhhhh..."
God dammit, Japan. You and your fashion misnomers making things confusing for me. :/

I think the shirt is hilarious, although it could probably use a Ro-Kyu-Bu logo somewhere on the front, to make it slightly more clear what it's a reference to.
