Uhm... am I mistaken or isn't this news more than a month old? If I remember correctly, this happened quite some time ago, after the airing of episode 14 of Nichijou if I'm not mistaken.
Or this is a similar prank done by different perpetrators... |

This is the article's writer--sorry to confuse you. This is a separate incident although it also took place at the University of Tokyo. There were videos released for today's prank but no still pictures. That's why the pic showing the similarities with the anime is from last month's case. |

If it makes you feel better I wasn't confused because I actually read the full article rather than jumping to conclusions and rushing to the forum with them.
