Well, he'd already directed enough, I just hope his successor does a good job.

Wingard is pretty busy. He has both an original horror project and the Thundercats movie, which apparently Warner wants to do sooner rather than later to erase Roar’s failure (they’ve already launched a comic book that is selling rather well).

Are we sure it’s for that reason?

Cause I don’t know how Roar had a realistic chance of being anything more than a very blatant knockoff of Teen Titans Go not helped by launching on a network that by that point had seen of number of shows get canceled or bow out after relatively short runs

Not to mention do we really need to see another 1980’s property adapted into a live action film that’s going to potentially come & go with a wimper after Saint Seiya live action film. Which I know was done by another studio but still.

So glad to see Wingard leaving the franchise. The new Godzilla/Kong movie was so cartoonish, it looked more like a sequel to the Rock's Rampage movie than an installment of this series.

We’re really saying this with regards to a multimedia property that originally involved men dressed up in rubber suits and cheap effects?

It certainly fits the Showa and Heisi era monster brawls. Godzilla’s versatility is part of his longevity anyway.
