The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Anime Season 2 Finale Teases Sequel

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The 24th and final episode of the second anime season based on Shūichi Asō's The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan) manga ended with a tease for a sequel anime. The episode ends with Saiki acting surprised at the possibility of a sequel, and saying that he didn't hear about it, but ends with a "See you next time!" The episode similarly ends with an illustration with the text "See you next time!"

The anime will have a special event in the Tokyo area on December 1.

The original manga centers on a high school boy named Kusuo Saiki. He possesses supernatural powers that cause unfortunate events in his everyday life.

The first season of anime shorts premiered in July 2016. Funimation streamed the anime series under the title The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. with English subtitles as it aired in Japan, and also streamed an English broadcast dub for the series. The second anime season premiered in January.

The series also inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan last October, and the Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan: Bōsō Bōsō! Psychic Battle app that launched with an original story on April 16.

Asō launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2012, and ended it on February 26. Asō launched a four-panel sequel manga in Weekly Shonen Jump's 14th issue on March 5. Asō also published a one-shot manga in the first summer 2018 issue of Shueisha's Jump Giga magazine on May 25.
