In ep 3, around 8:44, Karisawa Erika referred to "pipiru piru piru angel" referring to Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan

In ep 13, around 5:19, the shop shown "animate" is a real anime shop in Japan, and you can see posters of a couple anime on its wall, one of them being So-ra-no-wo-to.

Ep 13, around 5:51, Erika makes a "Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu" reference about a certain wealthy girl's secret.

In ep 15 at 19:47 to 19:54 there is a reference to Yotsubato since he wants to have a daughter with green hair and neighbors that are 3 sisters.

In ep 17 around 12:34 you can see a enlarged anime face that strongly resembles Nogizaka Haruka, a reference used before in the show.

In ep 17, around 12:48, Yumasaki talks about the short novel Kino's Journey, which was made into anime back in 2003.

In ep 18 around 11:26, you can see a scene from Baccano! on the television on the building.

In ep 20, at 15:13-15:18, where some anime figurines are shown in the background, figurines of Horo, Aisaka Taiga and Shana were being played with by Kadota's friends.

Also at episode 20, at around 18:24, a picture of So-ra-no-wo-to was briefly shown.

In episode 4, around the 10:15 mark, there is an animation error regarding the way the surroundings are reflected off of Celty's visor. As Celty approaches and eventually passes things in the surround, objects should get smaller as they move towards the edge of the visor because the visor thins as it moves toward the edges. Instead, objects increase in size as Celty passes them, a budget-saving animation shortcut that creates the bizarre effect of making her visor look like it's driving toward something in the opposite direction.

In episode 7, on the marquee of the film theater, we see a poster for the film 執事の沈黙 (Shitsuji no chinmoku, "The Silence of the Butlers"). This is a pun on the film "The Silence of the Lambs" (which translates as 羊の沈黙, Hitsuji no chinmoku).

In episode 7, near 16:25, there seems to be some sort of theatre area that have actor-characters that look very much like the Power Rangers--a classic show the Japanese love.

In Episode 8 (around 8:10) Kadota Kyohei is reading the volume 1 of Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series.

In episode 8, at approx. 9 minutes and 14 seconds in, when Walker is asking Simon if he's seen Erika, two girls walking in the background are notably not monochrome in color. This is significant as they are Mairu and Kururi Orihara, Izaya's kid sisters (fraternal twins, at that). They're only formally introduced in the episode 25 OVA.

In Episode 10 (19:22) When showing each other cards, they refer to "Biribiri" and "Himegami" which is reference to the characters in To Aru Majutsu no Index and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun Series.

In episode 10, at 22:13, the password Mikado typed to log in the dollars site is "baccano"

In episode 11, one of the ring tones says "Ippen shinde miru..." which is a reference to Jigoku Shoujo (Enma Ai's most common quote)

In episode 11 at 5:16, The announcement for jumbo melon bread is a reference from shakugan no shana, shana's favored jumbo melon bread.

In episode 11, the scene at about 13:16 where Mikado unpacks and turns on his new PC contained a lot of references. The PC box indicated that the hardware manufacturer was NEG which is a parody of the famous Japanese IT company NEC Corporation. The boot-up screen indicated that the operating system was “wbunte” which is a parody of the famous Linux operating system “Ubuntu”. It's a bit strange, though, since the PC box indicated that the PC had Windows 7 installed on it. In addition to that, the boot-up screen indicated that the BIOS was created by Phantomas Technologies which is a parody of the French fictional serial killer “Fantômas” created by Marcel Allain and Pierre Souvestre in 1911.

In Episode 12.5 the last line of the episode is from Robert Browning's poem Pippa Passes.

In episode 12.5 the phrase "Ventura Ventura, space people" said by Erika and Yumasaki is probably a reference to Urusei Yatsura where it was used by Ataru's classmates to summon a UFO.

In episode 12.5 at 8:27, MIB is a reference to Men In black an American Movie.

In episode 21 at 7:03, Red Snake is a reference to Red Bull, an energy drink.

In Episode 24 at 18:35 the cardboard cutout of Selnia Iori Flameheart from Ladies versus Butlers! can be seen.
