New anime to adapt 2 bonus chapters from 12th manga volume

Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine revealed on Wednesday that the Akatsuki no Yona original anime DVD will ship with the limited edition of the original manga's 19th volume on September 18.

The new anime will adapt two bonus chapters from Mizuho Kusanagi's 12th manga volume, titled "On That Back" and "Kija." "On That Back" follows an incident at a hot spring hotel, and "Kija" depicts the past of the Hakuryū Kija.

The staff and cast from the television anime series are returning for the anime DVD. The deadline to pre-order the limited edition of the 19th manga volume is July 27. The limited edition retails for 3,996 yen (about US$33).

Mizuho Kusanagi, the creator of Mugen Spiral, Game X Rush, and NG Life, launched the Akatsuki no Yona manga in 2009. The ninth and 15th manga volumes bundled drama CD adaptations.

The 24-episode television anime adaptation of the manga ended in March. Crunchyroll and Funimation both streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
