Viz Media to Screen Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission Anime Film in U.S. Theaters on January 30

Viz Media announced on Tuesday that it and CineLife Entertainment's United States theatrical screenings of the Hunter × Hunter -The Last Mission- anime film will begin on January 30. Both English-dubbed and English-subtitled versions of the film will screen. Tickets will be available on CineLife Entertainment's website.

Viz began streaming an English-dubbed trailer.

The film opened in Japan in December 2013.

The Battle Olympia tournament at Heaven's Arena is about to begin! Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio plan on watching the matches along with the other Hunters and VIPs in attendance. As they wait, a raid by The Shadow ends the festivities. Skilled fighters fall one by one to their terrifying ability called On, a dark power derived from malice. When their leader Jed captures Netero and declares death to all Hunters in the name of vengeance, Gon and Killua rush to defeat him - will they prevail?!

Viz Media licensed the Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge anime film and released the film on home video on February 13. The film opened in Japan in January 2013. The company has also licensed the 2011 Hunter × Hunter anime and released part of it on home video.

Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter X Hunter manga inspired two television anime series; the latest one ran from 2011 until 2014. The manga also inspired two anime films and several original video anime titles. Shueisha published the manga's 36th compiled book volume on October 4. Viz Media released the 34th volume in North America in March 2018. The company plans to release the 35th volume in North America on March 5.
