Spinoff comedy series launched in 2016

The July issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine published the final chapter on Wednesday for Midori Hagi's Girls und Panzer: Senshadō no Susume manga.

Monthly Comic Flapper had teased in April that the manga was approaching its climax.

Hagi launched the series in 2016, and the fourth compiled book volume shipped in November. The fifth and final volume will ship on June 22. The comedy spinoff explains the history, development, and technical details of the tanks and other vehicles that appear in the franchise's anime.

The most recent anime installment in the Girls und Panzer franchise, the first part of the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale film series, opened in Japan in 2017. The second film will open on June 15. The film will depict the finale of the battle between Ooarai Girls Academy and BC Freedom High School, and will also show the battles for Kuromorimine Girls Academy, Pravda Girls High School, and other schools.
