Masterpiece Rating Comment
Basilisk (TV) Masterpiece When an anime has an ending that I selfishly hate beyond all measure because it's not the cliche perfect happy ending, it deserves it's place as a masterpiece. That aside, the battles and love in this anime were so powerful it was almost tangible.
Boku wa Imōto ni Koi o Suru: Secret Sweethearts - Kono Koi wa Himitsu (OAV) Masterpiece I didn't think I'd find another like Koi Kaze, but I did. And it did not disappoint. A truly beautiful anime.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (TV) Masterpiece An animated work of art. The story alone is worth its own title as a masterpiece. The last stretch of the anime had so many surprises I needed a defibrillator at my side at all times. This rating assumes season 1 was seen, of course.
Gurren Lagann (TV) Masterpiece Humans are indeed fascinating. A mixture of hope, belief in one's self and others, a great story, unadulterated mecha battles, and an ending I hate... love?... no hate... make this an anime worth seeing. It's grandeur builds up from literally nothing, it's so wonderful.
Hunter X Hunter (OAV) Masterpiece Hands down the best part of the Hunter X Hunter anime series in my book. So much raw passion, emotion, action, blood, etc. was poured into this small, and yet at the same time gargantuan, OAV that it stood out amongst the other 84 episodes of the anime in all aspects. As with Code Geass, the entire anime needs to be seen up to this point to grasp this OAV's greatness.
Kino's Journey (TV) Masterpiece
Koi Kaze (TV) Masterpiece I took a chance at watching this anime, and I never knew how beautiful it would turn out to be. One of the most moving anime I've seen in my life. It is by no means meant for all fans of anime. I wanted to stop watching a new episode after I had finished going through an old one, simply because I felt like I shouldn't, or that I was afraid, but the story was so compelling I could not hold my curiosity any longer. Any other rating would do this anime a grave injustice.
Lunar Legend Tsukihime (TV) Masterpiece
