Seriously? This type of imagery is part of the reason why I stopped watching One Piece.

It's not bad for characters to be sexually appealing, but it started to feel like sex appeal was defining characters and there was little story to enjoy.

The figure looks great, but that's not what I want from Nico Robin.

I have never seen Robin dress like this in the manga or anime. Ever. This outfit seems to have been made for the figurine specifically.

You just don't consume Toei's work you read the manga, you amateur.

Because that's really going to solve his problem with One Piece isn't it, I don't know if you noticed, but their bust size in the Manga is the same.

Heck, a lot of the Fairy Tail Guild ladies (specificially, Lucy, Erza, possibly Juvia, Mirajane, and Evergreen) are all fan-service friendly characters.

When I saw Robin in her prison uniform, just before the timeskip is when I first noticed how much bigger she was. though I don't think it is too much of a change, she was still scantily dressed when she first appeared.

Nami is the one where it really seemed like a completely different person. At first she was completely flat, a little line indicating there was a pair there and unlike Robin she used to wear a lot of clothing.

what's the relation of this one and that figurine with oversize boobs from before? the same company? created by guys with some sort of boobs fetish? animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-08-25/super-pochako-gets-a-tan-for-new-bikini-figure/.92077

it doesn't even look like robin .. also the size is much bigger vs the manga/anime

interesting how a female character's breasts can change so much even for those 17+

only in anime/fan service world

looking at nami and robin after the time skip....robin is around 28 when she joined the crew..

maybe the revolutionary army also provide breast implants for their members Rolling Eyes

Wow, thanks for illustrating that. Nami's growth spurt really crept up on me.

I've heard tell that the reason Oda's hit the gun on sexy women is because he got married and he keeps thinking about his wife, which... I'm willing to believe. I mean, guy loves his family, and he's only got enough time to bathe once every three months.

It's weird, and I kinda wish he'd tone it down a little (we get it, women have breasts!), but at least he writes decent women.

It's Fairy Tail every female character is a fan service character especially Lucy. Constantly having her clothes torn off or dissolved or something where her breasts or ass is exposed.

Funny how we call "Naruto" and "Bleach" sexist because the girls aren't John Rambo, and yet people I disagree with politically never get on Oda's case for how he draws female characters.

For one thing One Piece doesn't have anywhere near as worthless a female lead as Sakura in Naruto.

And Orihime her first chapter back to the story in this arc her color page makes her look like she is giving a blowjob, a handjob and her boobs are open for a titjob all at once. http://www.mangamint.com/bleach-587

Though that isn't to say Oda is really that good with female characters. He isn't and this is coming from his biggest fan, I think he is a genius and One Piece is a cornerstone of shounen mangas. I will agree the female characters are not the best written and aren't given their time to shine. I am still waiting for the day Robin gets another fight her one and only one being back in Skypeia. Though saying all this it is a byproduct of Japanese culture being one of a very male dominated society. In most shounen mangas the female characters are not well written and generally do nothing or have very few fights. Hell the the vast majority of the subgenre of ecchi/fan-service animes are nothing but boob fondling, panty shots, and other erotic imagery.

I'm not saying the women aren't useful. That's their saving grace. I just call BS that we call Orihime sexist for being useless and being only defined by her crush on Ichigo, and yet everybody worships Boa Hancock for the exact same reason.

Imo her boobs are too large to be sexy and are rather weird. Nami's was rather well proportioned and in the beginning rarely participated in 'fan service' often and I miss that. sadly as time goes on the eye candy increases and while I don't hate it, I can't hide my dissapointment. now if there was a pre time skip Nico Robin that I'd like

It was in all versions of One Piece Unlimited World Red as a DLC outfit, but her boobs were a little smaller in the outfit in the game than in that figure. So there is some precedent.

Of course I had her run around in it 24/7 after getting it. Wink

At least Hancock is powerful and one of the seven warlords. During Hueco Mundo Aizen kept going on about how powerful Orihime was but in the end he completely forgot about her. As a character she doesn't do anything beyond healing people. She never fights and she stands on the sideline cheering Ichigo on. At least Robin fights nameless pirates and marine soldiers and does some other stuff.

Or we could just worship her because she's one of the strongest women at sea, a Shichibukai and ridiculously funny. Yeah, as a woman, I think that might be reason in my case. Anyone else?

Regardless, no one will deny that Oda likes his manga women voluptous, but that abominable udder-figure has got nothing to do with the Robin I know and love in the manga. Let's put that crime on Megahouse's doorstep and leave it there. That's one P.O.P. that won't make it to my collection. Evil or Very Mad

You are correct in that fan service became more prominent as the series went on, but in no way does it detract from the story as a whole, and to say there's little story to enjoy is an outright lie. When you get to the meat of the story arcs, there is little to no fanservice anywhere and it's all about character development and action.

it can never be a lie. to many of us there is little to be enjoyed and that's our opinion Smile

as for the figure this looks EXACTLY like how oda draws robin Smile which is annoying to be frank and his sexism and over-doing it with fan service is one of the reasons i stopped reading one piece long time ago. the two female characters must have a full arc each to " save them "

To the one using the Naruto avatar with one of the most worthless female characters in manga history in Sakura. The one fight Sakura was in she was controlled almost the entire time by another person. Nami and Robin won their fights against named characters without being controlled by another person. Also your wrong on how bad the fan service is. While yes I admit the female characters have been made much more sexual over the years I can really only think of one major fan-service moment in years that was really pointless and meant to show off Nami's body and that was the bath scene where she was attacked by Absalom in Thriller Bark. Beside that there are no panty shots, women don't get their clothes torn off or disolved to expose their breasts and asses, we don't get locker room shots of them changing clothes. If you want mangas with real fan service look at Fairy Tail or History Strongest Disciple Kenichi.

Also in story Naruto went on for over 200 chapters with the final arc and kept giving us the same twist three times in succession. The villain was actually being manipulated and controlled by a more powerful villain. From Obito to Madra to Black Zetsu/Kaguya ya that is amazing storytelling right there. Oh we also can't forget that amazing explanation for why the Uchiha were so powerful and turned evil so easily. They just loved way too much and that love made them go evil.

LOL, are you people serious with this crap? This figure will sell out, guaranteed. Japan doesn't have their panties in a bunch over sexism like the US.

and Thank God for that.

And healing is not useful? So, are you saying that the doctors that serve overseas in the military are useless because they don't fight? If you say that a healer is useless, I'm just going to assume you think the same way about the people who help fight for our country.
