Yuri on Ice is projected to do very well and I think it's almost confirmed to have a season two, especially with that ambiguous ending. Seriously, I will be shocked if it sells less than 30k.

Now, after watching the episode, I will be pretty bummed if there isn't more. spoiler[That was a pretty anticlimactic ending, to be completely honest. Not even just that Yuri Katsuki didn't win, I was fine with that. Just something about how it was framed and paced made it come off as very... blasé. All in all, I was underwhelmed.] But they can easily recover from that with a strong continuation.

You're right. It felt like the show ended up going for the safest, least dynamic ending possible in order to set up for a second season with all cards still on the table. It was way less interesting than it could've been. |

They'd be mad not to make a second season, purely for commercial reasons.
