First off, I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else in the forum (I did do a search before posting). I am currently looking at my manga collection and have spotted a few titles that I bought and in the end did not like, etc. I have Tsukuyomi Moon Phase Vol 1+2, I was wondering if anyone has seen the anime series and can tell me if it is significantly different from the anime (which I have all of). Also, the titles I am clearing out (making room for more) are being donated to the local library so it's not like I'm just tossing them out.
Thanks

I'd say yes. The anime remains pretty true to the story, but changes a number of other aspects, generally for the better, I think (e.g. Haiji is introduced in half-human form sooner, Hikaru and Kaoru are introduced sooner and given more characterization, Elfriede and Ryuhei's relationship is given more depth, Hiromi gets a little more screentime, the 2nd battle against Kinkel is much more interesting, etc). It also drastically changes the art style (which is better is a personal preference), and makes the non-serious parts very much wackier.
Be aware, there is an conscious push in the anime to be as moe as possible. Also, there are lots of falling washpans. You'll know them when you see them.

Thank you very much for your reply. I actually was not crazy about the moe-ness of the anime or the ending in particular how forced the Kouhei/Hazuki's relationship (towards the end of the series) seems and honestly...Hazuki is portrayed as a little girl for the most part so it is a tad bit gut-wrenching to see such a thing. I will now lump in these two volumes to my library donation; again, thanks a lot for your help. I did not want to go buying the rest of the 11 volumes only to find out it was pretty much in-sync with the anime.

There are pretty big changes near the end of the anime. The stuff after Kouhei starts working on his spiritual powers and Art shows up is kind of similar but that portion starts going in a different direction and quickly diverges completely from the anime. Whether or not you will like it much is another story. If you didn't care for the anime, I'm not sure you will like the manga much more. The anime may have "moe-ed things up" but a lot of it was there to begin with.
