Hot Gimmick is a really good series. The art is easy to get used to, and it's pretty funny. There are a lot of twists, which makes the series even better. Smile

Hmm... the easiest way for me to approach this is to suggest other works done by the same manga author.

Katsura did I''s, so you may enjoy Video Girl Ai.

Toshihiko Kobayashi did Parallel, and also did Pastel, which is going to be published in the US soon.

I presume you meant Ichigo 100%. If that's the case, try out Lilim Kiss, since that was also done by Mizuki Kawashita.

I might as well get Love Hina out of the way.

Also try Urusei Yatusra from Rumiko and Ai Yori Aoshi from Kou Fumizuki

The kenshin manga has some romance and a lot of comedy... mabye too much blood though... and it can get really serious at times.... but I think it's a "wicked" ejoyable manga. Anime smallmouth

Except for suggesting Love Hina, my suggestions run along the line of Ataru's.

I'll also add that you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't read Oh! My Goddess. Belldandy and Keiichi, in the nearly 20 years they've been running as a couple, are quite possibly the gold standard of anime romance.

Also, if you'd like a sweet quickie, pick up Onegai Teacher. It's actually quite fun, and only two volumes.

Some of the more recent ones I've checked out in the romance / comedy vein are Imadoki!, Hot Gimmick, and Tuxedo Gin. The first two are boy meets girl, girl meets boy sort of deal with Tuxedo Gin being boy meets girl, boy dies and is reincarnated as a penguin. It sounds very odd, and it is, but I really enjoyed it.

Tuxedo Gin starts out fairly enjoyable (mostly because of the cute concept) but quickly gets dragged into repetitiveness and mediocrity. Every story is the same: penguin is in love with girl, something threatens girl, penguin solves problem in a funny way. Midori no Hibi pulled this off because the situations were more diverse, the characters were strong (TG's characters are basically a collection of genre cliches) and the manga-ka had a real skill for writing comedy. The same cannot be said for TG after a couple of volumes.
But I'll recommend Kodocha and even though I really don't like it too much, Love Hina. since you like Ichigo and I"s. If you want a romance that's targeted at adults and are not afraid of sex, try Dance Till Tommorow.

Chobits is one I would suggest. It starts out pretty light and funny ,but it gets a little deeper in every volume and the comedy is consistent, and also World of Narue. Afunny and cutsey love story about a boy that falls for an alien girl.

Two words: Fuishigi Yuugi! Though the series tries to make itself appear to be an adventure/fantasy series, it relies completley on romance.

And if you want comedy, I completely reccommend Kodocha. 10 whole volumes of awesome. Hilarious, and lovable characters.

I wouldn't really call Fushigi Yuugi a comedy...it starts off kinda goofy and funny, but quickly turns into a soap opera...

As for comedy romance (my favorite genre):
To Heart
Maburaho
Boys Be
A.I. Love You (maybe to a lesser extent)
Pita-Ten
Psychic Academy
Negima! (though it isn't focusing on romance, there is some involved)
Fruits Basket (I'm suprised nobody suggested this yet)

I would suggest Happy Lesson and Your and my Secret, but they're only one book and then ADV dropped them...='(...I also own Instant Teen just add nuts, but i wouldn't really recommend it, haha.

And as people already said, Ai Yori Aoshi, Chobits, World of Narue, Love Hina, Imadoki!, Onegai Teacher.

Using a "list" for recommendation isn't really that helpful. Try to target specific series that the original poster is asking for and give some insight as to why they're recommend. Also I think "listing"/thread is againt the rules.

Sorry. They asked for suggestions, didn't know i was violating the rule or anything. Jeez, everything is so strict here...I was't gonna post what i'm going to originally because it was so long...but here goes.

To Heart (based off a dating game)- One main girl loves this guy, but he's kind of oblivious. He's kind of cold, but overall has a gentle and kind spirit and these two have been friends since childhood. The kids are in the 2nd year of high school, and insert a cute robot and a bunch of other girls and you have To Heart. Only 3 books long, too, all out in America, not bad.

Maburaho- A story about magicians who are born with a certain amount of spells they can cast throughout their life. The main guy can do 8 total. There are three girls after "him". By after "him" i mean that they're after his DNA because something about his family with their bloodline will make super awesome kids or something. So its three girls essentially fighting over a guy and you can't really tell if they care about him or about his dna. Very cute. 1 book out now, many more coming.

Boys Be- Lots of short little romance stories that range from both girls and boys perspectives from a girl forgetting her underwear after swimming practice just to meet up and do stuff with the guy she likes to a guy and a girl meeting up over taking pictures of birds. Generally deals with high school students and not all stories end with a couple getting together, so you don't always know how it's gonna end. Wink 4 books out now, about 22 have been made so far.

AI Love You- A series by Ken Akamatsu (creator of Love Hina). A guy creates a program to imitate his view of a perfect girl and she ends up coming to life as well, his perfect girl. Insert more programs that are girls into the mix to have a household of programmed disasters and cuteness. This series does get a bit repetitive and the main guy is a total pervert, so keep that in mind when you read it. - 8 books total, all out

Pita-Ten- A middle school boy whose dad is usually away and doesn't have a mom anymore, generally spends a lot of time alone. A crazy girl moves next door to him who claims to be an angel with the mission of making sure this boy is happy/safe. Of course, the reason she seems loony is because she doesnt really know much about anything, and many interesting things happen because of this. 8 books, all out in US.

Psychic Academy- In a town where some people have psychic powers and other don't, the kids with powers all go to a certain school called the "Psychic Academy". Insert a young guy who thinks he doesn't deserve to be there who meets up with a childhood friend who likes him, and a mysterious girl who he feels a strange connection to, and you have Psychic Academy. 8 books out now, 14 or something like that out total.

Negima- A 10 year old boy magician from England goes to Japan to teach English to a class of 31 Middle School girls. He's supposed to keep his magic a secret, but with the ability to make girls skirts blow up just by sneezing and living with a girl who suspects something fishy about him, things start to get interesting. 5 volumes out currently, 10 out so far, series is still going on.

Fruits Basket- Cute Ditzy Girl is orphaned and only has a couple of friends. Meets up with family of people who has a secret that they are turned into a certain animal when hugged by someone of the opposite sex and you have a tough situation for everyone. One of the most popular manga out there right now. 9 volumes out, 20+ out in japan and still going.

hows that?

As someone previously mentioned and described Chobits and Love Hina are great choices.

Along the lines of Chobits, you may want to check out Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. By the same creators, it is more targeted towards romance but has quite a bit of comedy.

And how does everyone here feel about GTO being included in this category? GTO is extremely slice-of-life, very funny and has romance evenly distributed through it, though the romance seems to be picking up here near the end. (awaiting the US release of book #25)
