Ok so recently i rented all of the DVD's of the His and Her Circumstances show, i loved it sooo much that I decided to order in the boxset to buy, so i did that. and on Friday im going up to buy the 1st Soundtrack that I ordered in.

Anywhay to the point, the Kare Kano manga is outstanding, I am currently on Volume 9, (buying 10 this weekend) I love the characters, and the drama, lots of comedy. Its definitely on my top manga of all time list. as well as top anime.

Have any of you guys read it so far? how do you like it?

the manga is good and the anime is what i feel to be a great animated tale based on the manga. This is what an interpretation should be IMO.

I loved some of the weird animation they do. the cut out characters was my fav scene (animation wise).

the manga is real good too. i usually do not buy art that looks too shoujo but i still bought the first 2 chapters of this book,

_______________

when you say volume 2.... do you mean book 2 or does the story continue into a second set of books?

I adore Kare Kano. Like you, fosterjd, I began reading the manga to find out what happens after the end of the anime series. What's really amazing to me is how the first part of Kare Kano--I'd say up until about volume 6 or 7, is more reliant on comedy while the latter part of the manga is more reliant on drama. And the shift is very subtle. I shared my thoughts on the manga months ago, right before volume 14 came out. Everything I wrote then still applies (bought volume 17 a few weeks ago).

I love Kare Kano. It's one of my favorite anime and manga. I really liked the anime except for the last episode. I didn't like the fact that they didn't animate it. It looks as if they just took shots of pages of the manga. I love the manga and I don't have any complaints about it. I've read up to the Volume 17 and I heard the the manga was completed this past June. I think the manga will have 21 volumes. After reading Volume 17, I can't wait for more. The story of Arima and Miyazawa just keeps getting better and more interesting.

Excellent. Masami Tsuda created a world which I absolutely felt at home in. I love the feeling of the manga, the "this could be someone I know." I have seen most of the anime, but prefer the manga. I eagerly anticipate volume 18.

Kare Kano really does seperate into "His" and "Her" Circumstances. Basically Yukino's storyline (Her Circumstances) ends with Vol.11, Vol.12 is the story of her friends.

Vol. 13 onward starts Arima's Story (His Circumstances), it does differ in many aspects from Yukino's, its darker, more mature, and in some ways, more triditional in its storylines, the artwork changes to reflect this in some ways.

One might not neccesary like the direction the manga go after vol. 13-14...

P.S: I think that both story arcs does come together at the final few chapters, as they learn what happended to Yukino...

i personally like yukino's storyline better. my fav part of the book after yukino and soichiro go out is when takifuma (i think) and the vollyball girl go out. he comes back into town big pimpin' and she still doesn't give a crap all those years later... haha! love that.

[and when i said "chapter 2" in my 1st post, i meant volume 2]

I also like the story of Tsubaki and Takefumi. I wished they delved more into their story a little bit more like Tsubasa and Kuzuma. Oh well, it is all about Yukino and Soichiro and they are the best couple.
