Twisted Evil Twisted Evil I absolutly love, Evangelion, FLCL, and Elfin Lied, Lain is cool too... I was wondering if you could reccommend any anime that is well.. extreamly weird? the weirder the better. Shocked Twisted Evil Shocked Razz Surprised Shocked

I mean weird like FLCL more than anything I guess, but its all good. [/url]

Try Urusei Yatsura, that of dreams and reality you will question Confused.

Seriously though, I've only seen about the second half of the second movie, but it was definitely weird. I'm still trying to figure out what it is that I saw. You'll want to avoid the dub though because even being as impartial as myself (on the issue of dub v sub) I found it particularly poor, probably one of the worst I've ever seen. However, I have enough interest, that given the opportunity I'd definitely check out the rest. (Like the first movie because then I'd most likely understand it Anime smile)

One of FLCL's principal animators (and possibly other staff) worked on Dead Leaves, so you'll want to try that. Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade is also more Gainax-style weirdness with the same sense of humor as FLCL.

Satoshi Kon's Perfect Blue is also very weird, but in a darker way; it just twists reality and makes you go WTF.

The Jojo's Bizzare Adventure OVA series from SuperTechnoArts is not entirely weird, but it's insanely corny/cheesy and violent and macho, something missed from Anime for a long time and does well as a substitute.

Cat Soup is probably the strangest title available to American audiences at the moment (at least until Mindgame is licensed... someday... in my wildest dreams). It's really, really surreal and tells its story through imagery instead of dialogue. A must-see for those looking for extremely weird anime.

I know the idea of "weird" is going to be different for perhaps most people. Three series I have seen fit into my concept of "wierd", and I am going to say that while I didn't fall in love with them, I can't stop rewatching them. Help me please! They are: Texhnolyze, Kino's Journey-The Beautiful World, and Gantz.

the weirdest one i ever saw was Dead Leaves. it was really spastic, fast paced, and funny.

whenever i tell someone about it, i make sure to tell them that they will either love it or hate it. (my best friend loved it, my big bro hated it)

When ever I ask someone who didn't like Paranoia Agent why they didn't like it they always tell me it was too weird, but it might be the weird your looking for. Also Bo-bobo, Excel Saga, and Cromartie High School all come from the land of bizarre.

You can try:

Interlude: It's a short but good OVA about an unnamed boy who's plauged by nightmares and one day he's pulled into an alternate reality full of monsters and canibals. He's rescued by a female archer named Aya, and together they try to discover what has happened and how to get him home.

RahXephon-If you liked Evangellion you'll probably enjoy this one as well. Ayato Kaminya's normal life is shattered one day when he witnesses a battle between two opposing forces in the sky. A woman appears to him and offers to tell him the truth of what's going on. Soon he finds himself compelled to enter and steal a mech called the RahXephon, and soon comes to question everything he once thought was truth as he finds out all of Tokyo has been slowly taken over by the Mu, beings from another dimensional plane.

That's pretty strong backing for seeing so little of it, to include the movie. Have you have a couple hundard dollars laying around, try the TV Series. Comedy weird, but weird need the less. While on train, try Ranma 1/2 for martal art/comedy weirdness.
