I remember reading somewhere about a year ago that there were plans to rerelease FLCL in box set form (not talking about that limited edition box) but I couldn't find any concrete release dates. Was this just a rumor, or will there be another release of this series in the future?

Also, Slayers is being redubbed by Funimation, right? Could anyone give me a rough estimate of how long it would take until another release of this series hits the market? I'm curious because Slayers and FLCL are both some of my favorite series, but FLCL is expensive for a six-episode series and Slayers is extraordinarily hard to find.

I seriously doubt they will make another FLCL boxset anytime soon, it would be awsome though. But I would kind of hate for them to release a boxset thats better than the first one, because my FLCL weakness would kick in and I'd have to buy it. -__-'

I'm actually more interested in the FLCL artbook being released.

About the FLCL box set, I've been waiting on that too and I believe it was actually an official announcement by the distributor, yet no real realease date has been giving to date. I always look for it when I check out the Right Stuf new releases, and nothing. I began thinking that the release was just canceled, but I hope someone has a link that proves otherwise.

But if it was official would'nt it be on the on the FLCL news section on the FLCL (TV) page?

I've never seen Slayers, but if funimation is releasing it it may just be a the perfect time to start watching it? =)

The box set release was announceed like 6 months ago so I doubt it is on their front page by now.

I'm pretty sure it is in the ANN news archives.

well Synch Point has been pretty bad with release promises so don't hold your breath til we get some real word on it being made. And yeah, it has been a while since Funimation bought the Slayers license. At the time it sounded like minor changes really but still no word. I wonder what is up.

FLCL News On Future Media Closing. this article was pretty unclear to me;
Quote:
According to a post in Synch-Point's blog by Shizuki Yamashita, their DVD replicator has closed its doors. Although not stated in the post, their DVD replicator was Future Media. Synch Point's release of Leave it to Piyoko! will be delayed by one to two months as a result, they are also temporarily unable to re-print FLCL. (Leave it to Piyoko! volume 2 will be delayed, volume 1 was released in November.)

Since it was before new years, could the "temporary" portion still be occurring. Is it referring to the FLCL manga? Or the anime?

Well, I just read on the animeondvd.com's forums that the first Slayer's box set was supposed to have been released in 2005, then got pushed to January 2006, and then pushed once more to sometime in spring 2006. But since there's no release date I'm assuming that they're still working on it. I think people now are shooting for a July release date, but again there's no set date.

Probably the anime as Tokyopop holds the liscense to the manga.

Probably the anime as Tokyopop holds the liscense to the manga.

So then that would mean the distributor of FLCL can't make copies to sell... doesn't it?

Apparently on February 15 Synch Point was doing disc checks with their new duplicator. I saw no news about a box set although people are asking for it on the Blog site.

I would think they are still in the process of gearing up or retooling. I would love a box set as well even though I have the 3 volumes previously released. Check out their blog - they have a lot of new merchandise.

[EDIT: Your post was pretty stupid too. Please put it in more details next time and work on your spelling and grammar as well. While I didn't particularly like the old Slayers dub and am not sure if FUNi's will be any better, you could at least tell us WHY you think "that's just stupid" for them to redub something that they've relicensed and have every right to do so. -TK]
