I was wondering if anyone purchased this and was having troubles. I'm on my third one, and they've all been either unreadable or choppy and without scratches even. Am I just unlucky and should keep exchanging, or is the data on these really that bad? Anyone know anything?

My guess is that your DVD player does not like those disk's. I have a player that will do that on some titles. When I play them on a different player they are fine. this could be the case for you being that you are on your third copy...

There's a documented glitch in the new Escaflowne boxset.
Contact Bandai customer service directly for an exchange. |

The first disc of my set of Escaflowne wouldn't play either, my DVD player just spit the little bugger right out so I returned it. The replacement set Best Buy found for me rattled, I made them open it and two discs were loose in the box so I made them find another one. That one the discs were all secure so I took it and didn't have any problems. I guess the issue is hit and miss.
You might just return it to where you got it from...again...and hope that you get a good copy this time. Or do like Nobuyuki suggested and contact Bandai directly. Right Stuf it mentioning it on their home page, so I'm guessing that they have had a lot of calls and e-mails about it. I'm also assuming that your DVD player doesn't do this with any other of your discs. The people at Best Buy tried that one on me...Idiots. |

That's not a bad line of thinking, but I know for a fact that isn't the case. In my household, I have 5 DVD players. A toshiba(my room), a panasonic(home theater), a TDK(pc), a cheap one whose brand I forget(pc), and a Sony(Playstation 2). There's no way they all have problems. |

I also heard if the same news that Nobuyuki listed. Apparently some of the discs don´t read at all and some are really choppy.
I´ve noticed that the ¨Complete Collections¨ from Bandai Ent. don´t seem to work on my PS2, living room DVD player, but it does play on my PC and Truck´s DVD player. But then again I am talking about the Gundam 0080, 0083, and 08th MS Team. With all these problems, I must admit I´m not really looking forward to the Wolf´s Rain box set. Hopefully they get it right by then. |

Yeah I was unaware of a bandia recall of sorts as reported by Nobuyuki. I would call Bandia or email them. How ever it is that they want to be contacted better than taking a chance at getting another bunk copy

Reminds me of the Ghost in the Shell SAC Volume 2 release. The one that for some reason only had a DTS disc. My friend exchanged it for another after I let him know it was only the DTS version, but he got a new one with the same problem.
I told him that he should look into Bandai's site to see if they had a recall/replacement cause I had heard about it, but he just kept his mouth shut and kept the DTS only disc. For some reason, the only discs I've had problems with are Bandai (I know GITS SAC is Manga Ent. and Bandai Ent.), and also the ones where I get the disc rattling around, as another poster stated earlier. |
