I had an RCA player since the Blair Witch Project came out and when they cost like $350.

Anyway I recently purchased a Samsung one after my RCA when caput and I find it wont play any of my Cowboy Bebop DVDs from the Perfect Session. It just keeps replay the FBI warning screen and i cant menu select or skip this screen?

Any else ever have problems with it. This is the only dvd series I've had problems with out of my 700 or so anime dvds!

The Bebop Remix DVDs work fine on my Sony, but it will not play End of Evangelion, as well as the new remastered Votoms disc 1. Both titles play on my JVC and Pioneer just fine. I only use my JVC for region 2, PAL discs, and as a general backup (since it doesn't have progressive video) so I don't know if all my DVDs play on it fine. There was also an issue with one of the Zeta DVDs and my Sony, but I think it's not unusual to have some compatability issues in the <1% range.

I have problems with my samsung dvd player. I recently bought Hellsing boxset and it refuses to play the 6th epposide. I even brought the disk back to the store and exchanced it for another set but the new set does the same thing. I just play that eppy on my computer instead.

I also have problems watching AMV's that I made and then burnt to dvd's so I could watch them on my dvd player. They won't work on my dvd player. It's so werid because they work on anyone else's dvd player. So I have to use my computer, my sailor stars fansubs don't work on my dvd player either, thank god for computers. Laughing

I had a Toshiba player for a time that did something similar, a few anime and even a few domestic movies I had it would not play a specific episode or chapter even though they would play fine on other players or on my computer or even PS2.

I replaced it with an RCA player which would play everything although over time I encountered issues where certain movies or anime would have problems with the audio periodically cutting out. I eventually got a Phillips player which works with everything I've put in it, only problem I have with it is that in anime where they have multiple angles like Funi often does the box in the upper right is always there and there is no way to get rid of it like there was on my old players. Seems I just can't get a DVD player that I don't have some issue with, at least my current one has never had a playing problem like its predecessors though.
