I am about to start this series and i am wondering if you all can give me some thoughts and opinions of what to expect.

thats all would it be possible to give a rating and opinion on how good it is without giving spoilers.

its the greatest series ever.. the best story of any anime by far.

do expect some from the chest up nudity for about 5 minutes of the first episode... and some seemingly senceless violence you wont understand at first. but you will understand soon enough. seriously though AWSOME SERIES. i wont say anything more because i dont want to ruin anything for you, just watch and enjoy.

My favorite Anime right under Cowboy Bebop.

well you said what to expect, I didn't think you meant how good it is.

I liked it a lot, one of my faves. Very sad show.

You should have a strong stomache. This series is fully of blood and gore, easily among the most graphic televised anime.

It also contains tons of female nudity, including children. If that kind of thing offends you, stay away.

But honestly, you should know this from any review (like the one on this site), the trailer, or just the DVD. What more do you want to know? And you clearly are already intent on watching this so... is there a point to this thread?

Eh, there is a bit of loli in it like Hitokiri said, but it's just the upper part like all the rest of nudity and it's in "good taste" (the character gets wet and takes off her clothes, so it's not that bad). As for blood, expect a lot, as well as have a good stomache (not as bad as Ichi the Killer, but still). If you don't like the first scene, it's ok, it's not all like that. Most people here are talking about all the gore in it, but behind that is a very good storyline. I'll just put it like thi, it's the only anime with gore in my personal top ten list, the rest are more drama based (excluding Haruhi and Sukuran, not dramas but very good). That being said, it's a very good watch, but you might not wana watch it around your parents (depending on your age and if you still live with them) cause they might not approve of it.

I honestly didn't find the gore to be anything sickening. There were two parts in the show that honestly made me ill and neither of them were really that graphic, compared to the typical parts in the show.

Before I watched it, I read a bunch of reviews that said it was overrated. However, I watched it anyway and I liked it a lot. This isn't the type of show that I typically like, but I was very drawn into the characters and story. I think it's a great series to check out.
