Does anybody else find it odd that the manga series JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, which was popular enough to run for 20 years, and 80 volumes, and spout the sequel/spinoff series, Steel Ball Run, never got a TV series? All it got was a 13 episode OVA series and 1 Movie in poduction.

Eh, well it's one of those unanswered philosophical questions I guess, haha. I'm thinking because the manga can get so violent, it would be hard for a TV-adaption to be true to the original. There is however a videogame based on part 1 coming out soon to celebrate the 20th(or is it 25th?) anniversary of JoJodom!

Fist Of The North Star was pretty violent also, but it got TWO TV series, plus a TV series for it's prequel Fist Of The Blue Sky is coming out soon.

I wish Viz would release the whole thing.

Well I don't blame them for starting off with the most popular part of the series. I just wish they'd release faster! 4 month wait argg

It's too outrageous. Like many other violent or random series, a series of Jojo would be too expensive to make since without the violence (especially the gore), the series loses a lot of its "over-the-top" appeal; Jojo's best chance for animation was about a decade ago, and yet little has come to fruition from it.
The same can be said of other "over-the-top" 1980's manga, like Mad Bull 34 or Berserk, which were animated but did not have the most spectacular segments of the show adapted (that is, post-Eclipse Berserk and much of MB's latter volumes).
