He was a part of my childhood. He will be missed. I hope the 2005 version pay a tribute to him, the man was a legend among Doraemon fans.

This is sad news. He stayed the course and voiced the most well known and beloved face in Japanese animation/comic history. R.I.P. Best regards to his family.

He just appeared for the first time in awhile in Danna (etc) a couple of weeks ago. Sad to see him go so soon after. RIP

Sadly I am only familiar with him voicing Drei Belanos in Project X Zone; his voice was absolutely fitting for the beastman though, and I completely respect what he brought to anime as the voice of Gian/Big G. Rest in peace, Tatekabe-san.
