See, you need more meme tastic levels of character designs ala Ellen Baker sensei to get the kids REALLY into the voting scene.

I despise that manga titled "The Warm Family Asks 'Where are Constitutional Revisions?"

Indeed. To bad for them that they don't have people like Trump and Hillary that they can take seriously instead of joke parties like the LDP. (Sarcasm)

You underestimate the power of memes; Trump's managed to get quite a few people who previously refused to vote on grounds it was all a fraud anyway to actually go to the ballot box with the help of some strong memes. Argue what you want about him, but he's a master of getting people to the polls - which is exactly what they're going for here.

I have to agree - but he's a racist asshole. Right now he's writing tweets about how he was right about terrorism and that Obama is a f*cking idiot that won't condemn those responsible for the Orlando shooting, even though he did. How dare you take the deaths of people that died, then laugh, gloat, and use those deaths to your advantage? And he did the same thing for the EgyptAir crash. If you do such a thing, you're no better than ISIS, who happens to be using his words as propaganda.

I'm indifferent to political parties using media franchises to support their campaigns, unless it eventually leads to some kind of problem (which doesn't appear to currently be the case). As for 18-year-olds getting to vote, nice move Japan - one step closer to democracy!

Not to get too involved in politics, but Obama used the San Bernadino attack as an excuse to enact new gun control policies(insisting it was "workplace violence" until credulity reached its breaking point) and Trump's tweet was about how he still refuses to call radical Islam by its name(which in no way helps stop its spread).
On a less charged matter, mislabeling Trump as "racist" seems to be one of the bigger reasons why people fail to understand his rise amongst so many disparate groups, much like the refusal to acknowledge the distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens that his policies rely on.
Which leads back into the actual topic: if this manga strategy helps people understand the party's strategy and policies, it'll be better than so much of American politics, where people fail to even think about so many candidates' platforms.

That's the thing: J-political parties don't really have policies and platforms. That's why it's so hard to pin them down. Look at Komeito, in the elections for both the upper house in 2013 and lower house in 2014, they made Constitution revision a main issue - yet now it's not really that big deal to them. So what exactly they were running for those past 2 elections? These props even dumb that down further.
