It's honestly about time. Square has had access to some of the greatest manga talent out there in recent years, and they consistently put out high quality products. I'm amazed it has taken them this long to find the right team to do an original Final Fantasy manga.
That said, I'm extremely excited about this. While Spirits Within and Unlimited didn't really do much for the franchise (although I do believe that Unlimited gets a little too much hate), the original stories for Brave Exvius, Dimensions and Record Keeper all give me faith that this manga could be a great spin-off addition to the FF franchise.

I liked Unlimited for what it was. I was impressed by its story development, although I did got kinda uncomfortable with how dark the story got. Although it wasn't really popular, C3 was a pretty solid series as far as I remember. I understand how tricky it is to get the Final Fantasy feel right, but I do hope it'll end up good.
