Love the plan for a public "farewell" area for the artists, really good taste. It would have beyond poor taste to go forward with a "Festival" event in light of the fire. I know planning these sort of activities takes place months to a year in advance so I get that they probably had to go forward with something but I would have just canceled everything this year.

This isn't surprising news, but it's still a heartbreaking reminder of the damage done. A farewell event for the deceased sounds like a really good idea, though.
