Hopefully these make their way to Crunchyroll and lead to another tv series.

I'm so excited for this! It'll probably be a year and a half before we can watch the whole thing but I don't care, more Ancient Magus' is the best news I could have read today!

Even though this is from a brand new studio, the art and animation quality in the trailer look just as good as the series so hopefully the actual OVAs look just as good. And I also hope that this ends up leading to a season 2, just like the first set of OVAs.

Pretty hyped for this! There doesn't seem to be a huge change in quality between studios as far as the trailer goes. <3

It's nice to see the series continuing in animated form, and hopefully we'll get a proper season 2 soon.

Hopefully better given that it is an OVA(under a different name) and they don't have such strict deadlines.

Most of the TV series' staff is returning for the OVAs so worrying about quality would theorically be out of concern since it seems to be the same.

Wit Studio was apparently not a very fun place when the first series was being produced (or in general), so I'm not surprised that a bunch of staff split off and made a new studio to work on the continuation. I can no longer find it, but there was an interview with the staff that was half "our show is great" and half desperate plea for help.

EDIT: Found it.

Eh, just yesterday I was wondering what was going on with this, I loved the first season and consider it an interesting case of study in manga for women since you can clearly see the stages these kind of histories normally take.

You can clearly see the steps of girl being saved by the male lead to the girl saving the male lead in a quite fluid and natural flow.

Most shoujo manga do this but sometimes it's too ham-fisted and comes from nowhere.

Funny you should say that, since the manga is actually shonen, not shoujo.

Also I'm not too surprised that there were issues behind the scenes during the first season, especially since some of the first OP and pretty much all of the second OP were just clips from the show. Hopefully a change of studios means less production problems for this next season.

The Ancient Magus' Bride is one of the more solid anime titles to come out in the last four years so seeing more of it produced is a welcomed change of pace for me. I will check it out in time.

I’m so excited, and really hoping this leads to another season because I love the “Chise goes to Hogwarts” arc in the manga so, so much.

Eh, that's funny, since it follows the usual "Girl is saved by guy then guy saved by girl" that you usually see in shoujo.

Maybe that's the appeal, it's a shounen narrated using shoujo style.
