Rock on. My only real complaint about the previous season is Bathory is a pretty lousy villain (little more than a generic traffic barrier unlike the introspective Dracula) but luckily the characters are compelling. Really wanna see Alucard go to town

The trailer seems to indicate that they’ve completely lost the plot of Castlevania and aren’t getting it back. I maintain that while the concept here might have made for a good Bloodlines adaptation (with the First World War being a great setting for both the international action and commentary they wanted) the hook just isn’t there now that Dracula is gone and is never coming back (thanks to disgraced writer Warren Ellis).
Netflix’s internal ratings report showed Season 1 of Nocturne doing very poorly when it debuted (for reference, it was at #209, the newest season of Demon Slayer which wasn’t available in all territories was #169, Blue Eye Samurai was #119, My Happy Marriage was #89, and Baki was #80) and if S2 is equally soft, it’s probably getting canceled.
