I guess the price tag didn't put a dent on the sales of Mario Kart World.

I believe with those numbers Mario Kart World has already surpassed Monster Hunter: Wilds as the best-selling game of the year in Japan.
Now, in terms of hardware units, the Switch 2 has sold 153.205 units, which is much better than what the original Switch sold in its second week (63.420), not to mention the Switch 2 sold a lot more units in its debut week.

While still too early to get the whole picture, I'm again surprised by these numbers because they are at least 20-55% higher then I thought they would be. Glad to see Rune Factory is doing well in Japan because that title for the S2 is pretty low on the best seller list on the eShop in the US (I think it was 2nd to last).

Most analysis I'll get into is that it took the PS5 about ten months to hit 1 million units in Japan. The Switch 2 took about ten days at the most.

I love that MK8 Deluxe is still in the top 5. I half-expect it to still be charting when the Switch 3 comes out.

It's Japanese chart and Mario Kart World base price there is no bigger than any Playstation title - 8980 yen, because Nintendo treats their own Japanese customers very differently from the rest of the world for regional pricing bargain.
Heck, upcoming Raidou remaster will have the same price margin on Switch.

Which would be news if not for the fact that the Switch 2’s portability is one if not the biggest reason for why it’s outsold the PS5.
