Lets hope that the 2 films are subbed before they stream the series in January.

Are those 2 new prologue films made from scratch or are they just edited compilations of existing scenes?

I was thinkin we should get a release date soon. Movies aren't entirely surprising given the amount of material left, though I think a longer season might have worked better. The events of that particular arc lead right into setting up the finale, so hopefully this isn't something that takes Crunchyroll years to get around to doing. Unfortunately, they are very inconsistent on handling movies that are part of a TV series.

Based on the title, they are new. I've finished reading the manga, and none of what happens at the Sapporo Brewery was covered in prior seasons of the anime. If you ask me, I think what happens there is important enough that Crunchyroll needs to not only get these, but have them ready before the next season starts. But, their history with movies is all over the place, so here's hoping the season premier has a decent way of getting people up to speed.

So the films are actually story material exclusive to the the films and not compilations of the first few episodes of the new season, right (like the Dandadan film)?

AFAIK, all animated content thus far came from the manga. Some ended up as OVAs, as they were less crucial to the story (like a prisoner skin of the week), but they're all manga content. That appears to include these movies.
