Normally I don't make these threads until a streaming platform gets declared, but I figured I'd make this as a form of burning incense at a shrine since I'm rooting for this one. Harems are iffy, but I think this one has an interesting premise and the trailer looks like the goods.

Dear God. I made it halfway, and I just needed a break. Insufferable is a term that gets thrown around a lot, but I really couldn't suffer any more.

I would not go that far but the show does feel like it is trying to be extra special way too hard. Every character seems to be flaunting how they are quirky in some special way whenever they are on screen. That goes particularly for the mc who is so ridiculously high on his own farts that I can only laugh. It is also hard to feel bad for the absent student when his mouth only opens up to emit a stream of insults.

All that said, I found it entertaining enough to want to see a little more, even if only to see where it goes from here.

Well, I'm the odd man out here because I liked it lots. Where others saw an insufferable narrator, I saw an OCD protagonist who was being set up for a nasty fall when his own carefully constructed little snow globe of a world shatters. In that respect, I thought what he did to the shut-in's window was a kind of foreshadowing, karma being a bitch and all.

But maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way, I thought Asuka's analysis of the MC was fairly spot on. I'm assuming her implication that real life is messy and full of imperfect choices is another kind of foreshadowing.

It is not that I dislike it really, I for one agree with your assessment Edjwald and there is also the plot summary which suggests that the characters (in particular the mc) are in for a rude awakening. That could make for some interesting character development and situations.

I just wish that the starting point was a little bit more subdued/less extra.

2+3:

While some of the characters are still a bit much I like that they are all working together to help Kenta find his way. I also appreciate the show spending time to show that the girls are all different/unique and not just the ''Saku harem''. The big question is if Kenta will stick with it or fall back into his old habits. I would still not call the show great but I am a tad more invested now.

I'm taking a more skeptical "Wait and see where this goes" attitude before I start making with the opinions again.
