The cure designs are overall solid, with Arcana Shadow being the standout to me. Not a fan of the accented thigh-high socks as a uniform element, think it clashes with the rest of their outfits except for Arcana Shadow's. Eclair might be my least favorite of the bunch, I think the exposed midriff throws the whole design off and makes it kinda incoherent (and I don't think orange is a good highlight color for her). Akane Yano's design sensibilities shine through the most with the civilian forms instead, which are all pretty great
The premise of Anna travelling back in time from 2027 to 1999 is pretty interesting, and I love that part of the production rationale for it is so they don't have access to smartphones and have to do good old investigative legwork instead. Isao Murayama being in charge of series composition leaves me wary though. I know he is capable of good work with Star Twinkle, but after him regressing back to the exact same writing pitfalls that plagued Maho Girls with Mirai Days I'm left cautious at what he has to offer once we get past the exciting premise. Have seen it described that Murayama is a solid Ideas Guy, but he needs a strong creative voice alongside him to guide those ideas into a form that structurally makes for good TV (so we don't end up with villains so bad that Murayama personally apologizes for them)
Which as I've seen pointed out elsewhere is the main red flag for Tanpuri, that we have a series director in Kouji Kawasaki whose biggest claims to fame are episode direction for two episodes of Dragon Ball Super and being a unit director for One Piece Film Red. Not exactly a resume that inspires confidence in Kawasaki as a proven leader who can draw upon strong connections within the industry or who has the weight needed to corral Murayama's ideas into something workable. I don't expect Toei to just bring Yuta Tanaka back or anything like that, but unfortunately Precure continues to feel like Toei's dumping ground for in-training artists as they work their way to "real" projects, since Precure is too big to fail under their stewardship anyways
But ultimately just want this to be good after You and Idol was largely disappointing (and want some cute fanart of Ruruka and Pafu hanging out like we got for Kokoro and Kome-Kome). Oh and it'd be really funny if Mikuru turns out to be Anna's mom like people are speculating

Pink and Purple/Violet starting duo Precure. The last one we had this colour duo was Mahou Tsukai Precure which was in 2016 (excluding the sequel Mirai Days).
It being a detective theme is already interesting to me but now they addedd the time travelling of Anna from 2027 back to 1999. Some are already speculating that this could be a mother and her future daughter duo which can actually be true but I wouldnt consider it yet at this point. We will most likely see Cure Arcana become an ally later on.

Hahaha, so time traveling is involved! I wonder if they got that idea from a certain time-traveling detective VTuber.
It's been awhile since I've seen an intriguing premise for a Precure series. Now it really comes down to execution which has been inconsistent lately. I really hope they nail the world to feel like it's 1999 and not like "it's 202X but with less smartphone access!"
On slight seiyuu gags, I do find it amusing Emiri Kato plays another magical girl mascot who essentially caused an "inconvenience" to our lead.

Welp, guess I'm watching Precure this year, lol.
One of my favorite character designers in the industry.
I also like the detective theming and the time travel idea, so I'm really hoping this Precure is one that manages to grab me.

This looks AWESOME! I love the character designs and the twists on the formula we’re getting (time travel, Cure working for the villains)!

Loving this concept and the character designs! I especially love that it looks like we're getting the double transformation sequence like Cure Blossom and Cure Marine. I really loved how those two interacted during their transformations.

Yeah as people have noticed in more ways than one this is essentially a retool of one of the original ideas for Wanpre, where Friendy would have been the (first purple) lead cure and they'd solve animal-related mysteries

Honestly, the premise is risky enough that it seems potentially catastrophic, but I can't help but want to see where the team is going with this. I do feel like the last few seasons since HS have felt experimental one way or the other, sometimes for the worse, and sometimes for the better, so this season definitely continuing that trend is at least intriguing.
I really like both Maho and ST with Maho 2 being something I really love despite its flaws, so there's a decent chance I'll enjoy this one way or the other.

I like the concept and the characters seem fun even though I was hoping we would get an anime of Dancing Star Precure after the crossover tease we got with You and Idol but maybe that's too similar to an idol theme to do right away.

Dancing Star is squarely in the realm of an extra revenue stream targeted at older fans like Otona Precure, it's never going to be the main show for kids. Not that they would ever do a main Precure season with an all-male team anyways, this is still a show first and foremost for young girls lmao

So.. Milky Holmes Precure.
I like the character designs and art. Already see a lot of potential with them.
