I was just wondering why this hasn't been licensed by Viz. It is the longest running manga in Japan. It is basically Japan's version of the Simpsons. It follows a cop named Ryotsu and it looks pretty funny. It currently has 151 volumes and is still going. I was wondering why such a popular manga was never translated.

Because it's obviously too long.

I have to agree, then length is insane enough that even those who own all the Rumiko Takahashi manga might not want to buy into it.

Even though I'd like to see it come over here, I have to side with the rest of the people. For one, the manga would not catch on with the number of people they would need to keep it going. People would probably not get the humor intended in it also. And, if you're releasing the volumes somewhere between a three to four month period per volume, it would be 35 years before you see volume 140 over here. I don't think people would want to wait that long for that.
