I saw an episode of it for my very first time on Saturday night (it looked like the first episode) and I thought it was pretty good. If anyone has seen it before also, is it a good series? Because I was thinking about getting the manga for it a little bit down the road.

It's super-generic shonen, with just about every cliche you could think of. If that's your kind of thing, then go for it. However, there are many far better shonen series out there.

I'm curious, has anything been edited or censored on the toonami broadcasts of MAR? I've been rather enjoying the series and I'm even thinking about buying the DVD singles (even though Viz boxsets are so much nicer) but I'd hate to buy something that's in any way censored. That really bugs me.
I don't even like the comedy mosaic some series use.

Well, I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as I thought I would at first, but yeah, I'd say I'm enjoying at quite a bit nonetheless. I really love this sort of thing, you know, fantasy-shonen type stuff. I just think it's way to generic is all, although it really is quite imaginative, which I'd have to say is definitely my favorite thing about the series.
But yeah, there's way better series out there. It is however a lot better than most stuff out there nonetheless, and good enough to make my list of "Good" series at least.

If you just started seeing M.A.R. last week Saturday then the episode you saw was episode 10 The Second Great War Begins! Personally I think in a way it's like Naruto, it's a comedy with violence. If I were you if the episode you saw was episode 10 I would watch the other episodes 1-9 to catch up and understand whats going on. I think M.A.R. is a great show and I would rate it at a 8 out of 10. Oh and one more thing I don't know for sure but M.A.R. may not be on tomorrow because of the Naruto special.

I think it is a good show with a lot of trills. Also,I think the storyline which is a kid living out his fantasy is little bit better than the storyline that Naruto displayed.

uhmmn.. it's just uhmmn i don't know not really a show that you would make your mind exploding from just first episode..
i have watched episodes 1-7 and then stop watchin the show..
you can really compare this one with Yugioh or Pokemon and more from those genres..
and seriously this show is not better then naruto, and im quite confident about that fact.
the fighting scenes, the storyline nothing is better, REALLY.

uh I caught a little bit of it on cartoonetwork, from what Isaw it looked stupid (I'm not fond of shonens btw) and the animation was ugly and the dubbing was awful.
