Well,
I will just tell you now that Dokuro-chan is the only anime I have watched and actually really liked (except for pokemon) I really don't watch much anime and I recently saw that Dokuro-chan has been Acquired Media Blasters If this means that I will get to see more episodes of Dokuro-chan I will be really happy, but when will they be released, aired, or whatever? |

Check our Encyclopedia entry for the title, which can be found here. According to it, the collected eight half-episodes are due out at the end of September. Nothing has been said by the original creators about any additional episodes being made, but if more is made it will be announced on this site.
This is true for all titles, BTW. If our Encyclopedia entry doesn't have release info for something then either a) its last American release was pre-2000, b) it hasn't been licensed for R1 release, or c) such information hasn't been made public. |

If you look up the DVD on any of the online retailers listed in the encyclopedia entry, all of them list a running time of 180 minutes, which is roughly the the equivalent of 6 episodes (or, in the case of Dokuro-chan, 12 half-episodes). I wonder if this means Media Blasters acquired both of the Dokuro-chan series, since there are 12 half-episodes in total between the two. If they did indeed acquire all 12, more power to them.

I believe it was recently confirmed that they do in fact have both the first and second seasons. I didn't think the second season was nearly as hilarious as the first, but I'll definitely be picking this up regardless.

Hmmm, apparently the official English name for the series is going to be Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan. Sadly it won't be dubbed, but I do like the cover art they're showing and hope they keep that.
Personally, I liked Club-To-Death Angel Dokuro-chan better as the title. Just seemed more accurately descriptive. And I had entirely forgotten about the second series when I made my earlier comments. It does, indeed, look like they have all twelve half-episodes on the release. |

Agreed on the name. While I'm glad they have it all, I'm some what sad it won't get a dub. But then several of the jokes involved mis-understanding words which may not translate well. Oh well, lack of a dub isn't a deal breaker for this series. |

I'll have to disagree on the official English name. While "Club-To-Death Angel" certainly has its charm, you can't deny the awesomeness of the the word "bludgeon." It just sounds so delightfully disturbing. As far as Dokuro-chan's dubbed status is concerned, I'd rather it not be. I am a dub fan, but certain series are better left untouched. This being one of them.
Are you planning on reviewing this little treat upon its release, Key? |
