Trivia:

This movie is the anime adaptation of the fourth volume of the "Haruhi Suzumiya" light novel franchise.

The background music used in the official trailer of the movie was the piano piece “Gymnopédie No.1” which was composed by the French Pianist Erik Satie.

On December 18th 2007 (A crucial date in the film) The official website of 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' (haruhi.tv) was replaced with a fake 404 message. The message prompted for a password to be entered. When "KNSAK" (the Initials of the surnames of each of the five main characters) was entered, an xterm interface opened and messages from YUKI.N appeared, which strongly resembles the 'escape program' In the film. If 'Enter' was hit, a promotional page appeared with a picture of Yuki and credits for the film. The 404 message stayed up for the 6 days that the film takes place.

When Yuki turns on the NEC PC-9801 computer, the operating system is Windows 95, which means that its startup sound (composed by Brian Eno in 1995) is heard.
