Trivia:

In an interview, music composer Toshihiko Takamizawa was told that Figure 17 was a mix of John Carpenter's The Thing and the highly acclaimed J-Drama Kita no Kuni Kara (From a Northern Country).

Due to licensing issues, The Alfee's songs "Boy" and "Fairy Dance" do not appear on the original soundtrack CD. They are available on the band's 2001 release Glint Beat.

Many of Figure 17's fight scenes are heavily inspired by classic tokusatsu (live-action hero shows) of the '60s and '70s. Figure 17's fighting stances are similar to those of Ultraman, while her flying kicks are comparable to that of Kamen Rider.
