Trivia:

Following the main character's naming pattern, every episode of this series has a strange reading for its kanji. For example, episode one should be "ihen," or "abnormal event," but it's read in katakana as "alpha episode."

Some Gainax characters seemingly make cameos in the 10th episode, during the first half. First is Mako Mankanshoku(of Kill la Kill) in a swim-by, and the Ikari family of Shinji, Yui, and Gendo(of Neon Genesis Evangelion) as fellow contestants in a quiz competition.

In episode 1, Tomoyo uses the boxing gloves used by the boxing club president in Kill la Kill.

In episode 3, one of the tennis rackets is the one used by the tennis club president in Kill la Kill.

In Episode 4, Takanashi Sayumi picked "bloomers" to wear as her cosplay. Andou Jurai, sort of complimented her (it sounded more of an insult) and angered Takanashi Sayumi and struck Andou Jurai with a left straight. Her stance is very similar to "Mashiba Ryo"s "Hitman Style" from the anime "Hajime no Ippo".
