Description:
An Ultimate Gulliver Collection

Gulliver's Travels
, written by Jonathan Swift in 1726 as a satirical comment on the social attitudes of his day, quickly became a literary classic, popular with young and old alike. The most famous part of the story depicts Gulliver's adventures on the island of Lilliput, where he is a towering giant compared to the kingdom's tiny inhabitants

In the 20th Century, the fantasy elements of the story made it an ideal subject for ambitious filmmakers using animation and special effects to bring the imaginative story to life. Numerous film adaptations have been produced over the years, but none as beloved as this classic animated version made by Max and Dave Fleischer, creators of the Popeye and Betty Boop cartoons.

Gulliver's Travels was only the second full-length animated movie ever made, begun shortly after Disney's ground-breaking Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The film received much acclaim for its artistic scope and memorable music, garnering Oscar-nominations for Best Score and Best Song. The character of Gulliver was given added realism through the Fleischer's invention, rotoscoping, a technique which involved filming a live actor, then tracing each frame of the film onto animation cells. The movie's noisy Lilliputian town crier, Gabby, was such a popular character, he was given his own series of short cartoons.

Gulliver's Travels Beyond the Moon
This early anime film produced in japan, tells the story of a young orphan boy who dreams of having adventures like Gulliver. Discovering that Gulliver is alive and still traveling, he joins him on an adventure in outer space.
