Clock Tower's Spiritual Successor Project Scissors Unveiled
posted on by Egan Loo
Clock Tower game franchise designer Hifumi Kōno (Steel Battalion, Infinite Space) announced a new horror game project called Project Scissors at Tokyo Game Show 2014's Indie Stream Festival on Saturday. Masahiro Itō (Silent Hill's "Red Pyramid Thing" and "Bubble Head Nurse") is designing the creatures, and Nobuko Toda (Metal Gear Solid) is in charge of sound. In addition, director Takashi Shimizu (Ju-on/The Grudge movie franchise, Kiki's Delivery Service) is contributing to the project that the staff described as the spiritual successor to Clock Tower.
The developer Nude Maker posted a press release on the project that describes it as a horror action adventure game for the PlayStation Vita, smartphones, and tablets. The story is set aboard a luxury ocean liner. In this enclosed space with no escape routes, the first of a string of brutal murders occurs. As the list of victims grows with no end in sight, can the player survive?
Clock Tower is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
