Xenoblade Chronicles X Trailer Reveals Western Release Date

posted on by Daryl Lee Hale
Wii U game set to ship December 4

Nintendo began streaming an English trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles X at its E3 press conference on Tuesday. The video announces that the Nintendo Wii U game's western release is slated for December 4.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, the player will join an organization called BLADE, where they must explore the world of Mira and search for "Life Points," or lost pods that contain cryogenically frozen humans, lost when humanity landed on Mira.

The player will also be able to take on quests to find items and defeat monsters for the citizens of the base town, NLA. Helping the citizens will deepen the player's bond with them, which in turn can help the player form bonds with other citizens. The game will support online multiplayer for up to four players, but up to 32 players will be able to exchange information.

Monolith Soft's action role-playing game shipped in April in Japan as Xenoblade X.

Tetsuya Takahashi (Xenogears, Xenosaga series, Xenoblade Chronicles) helmed the game's development and collaborated with Yuichiro Takeda and Kazuho Hyodo on the game's script. Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Seraph of the End) composed the game's music.

Nintendo released the original Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii in Japan in 2010, Europe in 2011, and North America in 2012. Nintendo released Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for the New Nintendo 3DS on April 2 in Europe and April 10 in North America.
