Mysterious Joker TV Anime Gets New Series
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The October issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Corocoro Comics magazine announced last Tuesday that a new series of the Mysterious Joker TV anime series has been green-lit. The magazine did not specify if the new series would be the show's third season, but it will provide further information on the series in future issues.
In Hideyasu Takahashi's Kaitō Joker (Mysterious Joker) manga that inspired the anime, there is nothing in the world that the mysterious phantom thief Joker cannot steal. He goes after one treasure after another in unpredictable capers with seemingly miraculous tricks.
The first television anime series premiered last October, and the second series premiered on April 6. Crunchyroll streamed both the anime series (under the title Joker) into several countries as they aired in Japan.
Takahashi began the manga in Shogakukan's Bessatsu Coro Coro Comic magazine in 2007, although it then moved to the main Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine. The manga won the children's category of the 58th Shogakukan Manga Awards last year.
