Latest episode of spinoff series of shorts features 2 characters in a bath

The official website for the Re: Life in a different world from zero (Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) television anime series began streaming the fifth episode of Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Break Time on Tuesday. The spinoff anime short series airs after each episode of the main anime's airing. The episode will be available online until May 24 at 6:00 p.m. JST.

In the fifth episode, Subaru and Roswaal are in the bath together. Subaru notices that Roswaal actually looks perfectly fine under all his makeup. Roswaal says that it's his hobby, and he doesn't have to cover his crooked nose or creepy stare, the latter of which he says with emphasis, and Subaru gets irritated that Roswaal was referring to his eyes.

Subaru proceeds to ask Roswaal if the bath's water is changed out every time a different person takes a dip, and Roswaal confirms this. After a period of silence, Subaru denies that he tried to drink the water since Emilia had gotten in before them. Roswaal comments on how youthful Subaru is, but then doubts himself, saying that he himself probably wouldn't have done that when he was young. When Subaru asks how old Roswaal is, he replies, "How old do you think I am? 100? 200?" Subaru laments that dealing with someone with not only an unserious appearance but also an unserious personality is very tiring.

The shorts feature the main television anime's cast members, including Yūsuke Kobayashi as Subaru Natsuki, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, and Yumi Uchiyama as Puck.

Minoru Ashina (Lord Marksman and Vanadis ONA, Boku, Otaryman, Agriculture Angel Baraki) is serving as director, scriptwriter, and producer of the shorts at Studio Puyukai. Minoru Takehara (Lord Marksman and Vanadis ONA) is designing the super-deformed characters and is also credited with the animation.

The Re: Life in a different world from zero anime premiered on April 3. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
