Microsoft announced game's remake in E3 2014

Microsoft announced during the "Youtube Live at E3" livestream event on Monday that it will bring a remastered version of the Phantom Dust Xbox game to Xbox One and PC in 2017. Microsoft streamed a trailer for the game.

The game will feature remastered graphics and support for modern Xbox Live features.

Microsoft previously announced the game's Xbox One port during E3 2014. In 2015, Darkside Games, the developer working on the port, shut down.

Microsoft Game Studios Japan and Yukio Futatsugi (Panzer Dragoon, Crimson Dragon) directed and developed the original action game for the Xbox in 2005. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows a band of humans who have developed esper powers. The game uses a card-based skill system and features multiplayer and online modes.
