Manga adapts fantasy light novels with anime in the works
Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Friday that it has licensed Aosa Tsunemi's Akashic Records of the Bastard Magical Instructor (Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Akashic Records) manga. The first single volume is slated for August 29, 2017.
Seven Seas describes the story:
Sisti is a magic-user in training who attends a prestigious magical academy where she hopes to be trained by the best of the best. However, when her instructor suddenly retires, his replacement is anything but what Sisti had hoped for—idle, incompetent, and always late! Can Sisti still learn magic and unravel the secrets of the mysterious Sky Castle with such a terrible teacher as her guide?
The manga adapts Tarō Hitsuji's light novel series, which is illustrated by Kurone Mishima (The Devil Is a Part-Timer! High School!, Konosuba - God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!). Tsunemi began drawing the ongoing manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in March 2015, and Kadokawa shipped the fourth compiled volume on October 26.
A television anime adaptation of the original novels has been greenlit.
