posted on by Egan Loo
A commercial during the Black Clover television anime announced on Tuesday that the anime and Yūki Tabata's original manga are inspiring a game for the PlayStation 4. The game's website will open on December 18. A "Black Clover Jump Super Stage" event at Jump Festa 2018 on December 17 will have more information. More details will also be in 2018's combined 4th/5th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on December 25.
Tabata launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015, and the manga has 4.8 million copies in print. Viz Media is publishing the series digitally and in print in North America. Viz describes the story:
Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. Only one problem–he can't use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Can someone who can't use magic really become the Wizard King? One thing's for sure–Asta will never give up!
The television anime adaptation premiered in Japan on October 3, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series in Japanese with English subtitles. Funimation began streaming the show's English dub on October 29. The anime will have 51 episodes.
The show debuted on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on Saturday.
