Sentai Filmworks Licenses Alice or Alice Anime for Streaming, Home Video Release

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Company has distribution rights in N. America, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Spain, Portugal

Sentai Filmworks announced on Thursday that it has acquired all distribution rights for the television anime of Riko Korie's Alice or Alice - Siscon Nii-san to Futago no Imōto (Alice or Alice - The Brother With a Sister Complex and His Twin Sisters) manga in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. The company will stream the series and release it on home video.

Sentai Filmworks describes the anime:

What happens when a big brother idolizes his little twin sisters? All sorts of mischief that's what! Meet Rise and Airi, twin sisters who love to hang out with their friends, go to cute pastry shops and annoy their big brother. Watch as these adorable pint-size girls learn to navigate through life while making sure their brother doesn't go too over the top.

The anime will premiere in April.

Kōsuke Kobayashi (Idol Time PriPara chief director) is directing the anime at EMT Squared (Urahara, Rainy Cocoa). Naoko Kuwabara (Gabriel DropOut sub character design) is designing the characters. Singing duo petit milady will perform the anime's opening theme song, and Pyxis will perform the ending song.

The cast includes:

Ayane Sakura as Rise

Rina Hidaka as Airi

Natsumi Takamori as Maco

Ayaka Suwa as Coco

Sora Tokui as Kisaki

Saori Ōnishi as Ruha

In addition, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will play the older brother, and Hiyori Nitta will play Alpaca-san and Kabi Usagi. All the cast members are returning from the earlier drama CD except Matsuoka, as the brother character did not appear in the drama CD.

The manga centers on the everyday lives of two twin sisters both named Alice, and their brother who is slightly attracted to them.

Korie (Unlimited Fafnir) published a one-shot with the same title in Kadokawa's Comic Alive magazine in 2013, and launched the manga as a full series in the magazine later that year. The manga ran in the magazine until 2015, when it transferred to Comic Cune. Kadokawa published the manga's second compiled volume in July 2016, and the third volume will ship on March 23.
