Panpaka Pants and Crayon Shin-chan Collaboration

Original theatrical shorts screening in AEON Cinemas, and various merchandise on sale now

CHIYODA CITY, TOKYO, JAPAN & KASUKABE, SAITAMA, JAPAN – March 22, 2017 – DLE Inc. (TYO: 3686) and Shin-EI Studios announced today the collaboration between the anime “Panpaka Pants” and “Crayon Shin-chan,” owned respectively. The collaboration entails a series of new “manner movie” anime shorts to be played before all movies screened in AEON Cinemas theater locations throughout Japan, and original collaboration merchandise. The collaboration will start from April 2017, and will run until July 2017. Detailed information regarding each collaboration aspect can be found in the below sections.

Manner Movies

For the first part of the collaboration, original “manner movie” anime shorts will play randomly in front of all movies screened in AEON Cinemas. The shorts will feature the voices of Yoshino Nanjō as Panpaka, and Akiko Yajima as Shinnosuke. The two main stars will be joined by supporting cast members from their respective series. The shorts will start screening on April 15, 2017, in conjunction with the release date of “Crayon Shin-chan's” latest animated movie, “Crayon Shin-chan The Movie: Shuurai!! Uchuu-jin Shiriri” (映画クレヨンしんちゃん襲来!!宇宙人シリリ).

Within the lobby of AEON Cinemas, visitors can pictures with a cardboard cut-out standee of Panpaka and Shinnosuke Nohara.

Merchandise

Starting in early April 2017, original collaborative merchandise will be sold in AEON Cinemas' gift shops throughout the country. Initial merchandise includes: clear files folders, reversible eye masks, tote bags, and a hand towel. For images on the merchandises, refer to the image packet below.

RECAP
The anime “Panpaka Pants” and “Crayon Shin-chan” will be doing a collaboration starting in April 2017, and will run until July 2017. Original anime shorts featuring Panpaka (voiced by Yoshino Nanjō) and Shinnosuke (voiced by Akiko Yajima) will screen in AEON Cinemas, with original merchandise being sold in AEON Cinemas' gift shops, with plans to expand to other retailers (specifics to be announced at a later date).

About “Panpaka Pants”
Panpaka Pants (パンパカパンツ Panpakapantsu) is a Japanese anime series set in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan developed by DLE The series follows the adventures of Panpaka (a piglet boy) and his best friend cat, Punyan, as they go on various adventures in search of special pants. The series began in 2008 as a series of 1-minute shorts on local television,[1] before being picked up to series in 2015.As of 2016, two season have been released in Japan on Shizuoka Broadcasting System's channel and Kids Station in Japan, and a third season is currently airing in South Korea. A third season will begin airing in April 2017. A feature film was released in 2014, titled Panpaka Pants: Treasure of The Bananan Kingdom.The series title is a pun on the Japanese phrase “panpakapan” (ぱんぱかぱん?), which roughly translates to “surprise” in English.

About “Crayon Shin-chan
Crayon Shin-chan (クレヨンしんちゃん Kureyon Shin-chan), also known as Shin-chan, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshito Usui. It follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke “Shin” Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, and friends and is set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. An anime adaptation of the series began airing on TV Asahi in 1992 and is still ongoing. The show has now been dubbed in 30 languages, has over 920 episodes and 25 full-length films. Crayon Shin-chan is the 24th highest grossing animated franchises.
