About Ryokuō-shoku Shakai
A four-piece band from Japan, nicknamed “Ryokushaka.”
The band was formed in 2012 by high-school classmates Nagaya (vocals), Kobayashi (guitar), peppe (keyboard), and then joined by Anami (bass), Kobayashi's childhood friend. They have consistently released hit songs, including "Mela!" (2020) surpassing 400 million streams, "Be a flower" (2023) surpassing 200 million streams, and both "Character" (2022) and "Summer Time Cinderella" (2023) surpassing 100 million streams.
The band has achieved many major milestones, such as performing their first solo-live at the historic Nippon Budokan in Tokyo (10K capacity) in 2022, followed by a successful arena tour in 2023 and2024. They have also performed at NHK's beloved New Year's eve music show “Kohaku Uta Gassen" for three consecutive years (2022-2024) and won the Excellent Work Award at the "65th Japan Record Awards" in 2023 for "Summer Time Cinderella."
One of the defining characteristics of Ryokushaka is that all the members are involved in composing their music, resulting in a wide variety of styles and pop sensibilities being displayed. With Nagaya's transparent yet powerful vocals along with the diverse backgrounds and unique styles of all the members, they have garnered a significant following among listeners in Japan and beyond.
